The serum mentioned by the Wellington doctor was a scrum which had been used in New Zealand lor many years in the treatment of patients who had ilreudv developed ‘the disease, in order to prevent' possible serious paralytic results. The serum was available at the four base hospital laboratories, where it was prepared.
