REEFTON, June 11

The condition of Mr George Krenimer 2 of Black’s Point is very serious), and is causing his relatives much, concern. Air Kremmer is suffering from mineis’ phthisis#. Aft Laurie and Airs Kremmen, junr., arrived from the Owen early this morning. Mr R. Yellowlees was the successful tendered for the construction of the battery superintendent’s residence at Waiuta, for the Blackwater Alines Com pany. Rev. W. and Airs Bell were farewellcd by a large gathering last evening at St. Stephen’s Hall. Mr A. P. Watson (Vicar’s Warden) presided. A musical programme was enjoyed, 'items# being contributed by Mesdames Sharpe, Discaciati, Bell and Alisses Tobin, Stevenson and Palmer. Mesdames Alarshall and Dis#caciati were the accompanists. The chairman, in handing \R<ev. Bell an envelope of notes on behalf of the congregation, referred to the five and a-half years of service given to St. Stephen’s by him and his wife. The Vestry regretted exceedingly that the time had come for Mr Bell to nfoye on. He was .leaving many friends. The work of Airs Bell among the children was greatly appreciated. The small gift would be a reminder of the time spent with the congregation in Reefton. Rev. W. F. Evans (of Knox Church) fare welled Air and Mrs Bell and thanked the Vestry for the opportunity to attend. He had always appreciated the fellowship of Mr Bell and knew that the work of Airs Bell would be missed by the congregation. Rev. C. E. Dickens (Wesley Church) on behalf of his# congregation, bade Air and Mrs Bell farewell. Messrs E. W Spencer, H. Campbell, W. B. Auld and Dr. Wicken also made complementary references to 'the guests of the eveningRev. Air Bell, who was received with musical honours, his regret at leaving Reefton, and thanked the parishioners for their many kindnesses and for their gift. He also thanked the ‘Choir and Vestry, and specially mentioned the work of Miss# E. Strachan in attending to the church. lie paid a tribute to the work of Airs Bell, who had done much to (lighten his labour. Mrs J. Hickton handed Airs Bell several toilet articles on behalf of 'the Ladies’ Guild, and thanked her for her v/nik with them wishing her success, happiness and prosperity in Takaka. Mrs Bell replied. On behaJf of, the Tnangakua A. and P. Association, Air J. B. Diseaeiati handed Air Bell a suit-ably-engraved fountain pen and thanked him for his# services to the Association. Air T. L. Floyd also spoke of the

work performed by Air Bell and said the committee could ill afford to loose him. Air Bell suitable replied.
