ENGLISH SOCIALISTS. LONDON, June 10. “Tn no circumstances will we partiei pate in war, waged under capitalist rule, for capitalist ends.” declared Sir S. Cripps, at the Socialist League Conference at Bristol, proposing a motion calling on the National Council of Labour to summon a conference of the whole working class movement to consider the danger of war, and decide the methods of mass resistance to the Government’s present policy. Sir S. Cripps added: A Socialist Govern' ment must be free to consider Britain’s existing comments. Defence would be necessary, but it would be defence of an England owned and controlled by the workers. The resolution was carried unanimouslv. LONDON, June 10.

During a practice for the Isle of Man race, an Australian. Hannaford, and a New Zealander, Bradley, crashed while negotiating a bend near Kirkmichaal.
