Hie Soviet has strongly protested to •1.-ipaii against a violation of Soviet ter ritory by a Japaues-Manchurian delaeiinent, which, allegedly, ambushed and attacked two mounted Red Army Guards, one of whom was either killed or was wounded and carried off to Manchurian territory. The Soviet demands all immediate investigation and punishment of those guilty. TOKTO. June 11. The Japanese Foreign Spokesman said: The army reported that Soviet cavalry on June 3rd entered Manchu territory, near Minshan, on the eastern frontier. They fired at a Japanese patrol. The Japanese took cover, rhey shouted lor the Soviet cavalry lo cease lire, but this was unavailing, whereupon, the Japanese responded, killing one Soviet trooper. The others ret rented. The Japanese Military representative piotested on June 6th to the Soviet Consul nt Harbin against the ac.ion ol the Soviet cavalry, whilst the Soviet Embassy at Tokio counter-protested on June 10th to the Foreign Office ami intimated that the occurrence was in Soviet territory.
