GALWAY STATUE. 0 ’DUFFYITE 'S J OKE. (Received June 10, 7 p.m.) LONDON. June 10. A pleasant Sunday afternoon was spent in Galway city in connection with the unveiling of a statue commemorating Padraig O’Conairc, the Irish scholar, author and philosopher. The gravity of the proceedings, however, 'was upset by the discovery that some practical joker of O’Duffyite leanings had clad the statue in a b’ue shirt. The meeting had barely composed itself after the discovery when the platform, bearing Mr Do Valera and,, thirty other notables, collapsed, precipitating them in a struggling heap, but nobody was -seriously hurt.
