The weather report and forecast are a?* follows: General situation: -An intense :.nT; cyclone lies over New Zea- . ’ -id, while an extensive depression is situated over the north-west portion of the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Increasing north-east winds’ north of K.-.whia and East Cape; elsewhere light to moderate and variable winds, but mainly between south-easter’v and north-easterly. Seas in New Zealand waters are becoming rough north of Las»: Cape ami a considerable easterly swell thence southwards to Cook A Strait; elsewhere smooth. Eastern Tas man Sea: Strong north-east winds, and lough seas in the northern portion; moderate but freshening, easterly winds in the .-•.nithern portion; moderate seas. Weather mainly fair. |>u; < oinly and misty at times on tin* Fast Coast and in the far north, with scattered light rain. Temperatures cold, < Many frosts n the South Island.
