SOME DECREASES At Addington Sale (Our Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHURCH. May 15. There were two thousasd fat lambs yarded. Quality was lacking. Freezing buyers were operating freely up to their schedule rates, while butch ers were securing the heavier lots. Best heavy lambs sold to 24s lOd; prime heavy 20s 6d to 235; medium lambs 14s to 17s 6d. There was a heavy yarding of mutton, the bulk comprising medium to plain sorts. Wethers were in short supply. Butchers’ weights wefre easier by from Is 6d to 2s per head. Medium weights were Is easier. Store lambs met with better competition, principally on account of continued mild weather. Best grades were firmer by 2s per head. Ewe lambs were firm. There was a slight increase in the entry of store sheep on last- week's lot, including Home better lines of ewes*. The market opened firm, but it receded at the closing stages, when sales were harder to make. Forward wethers were firm. The fat cattle comprised a yarding of 750 head, mostly of good quality. Steer beef values were easier by about £1 per head all (round. The values per hundred lbs*, wage: Best prime bullocks 23s to 24s 6d per hundred lbs.: prime medium weight 20s ito 225; medium grade 8s to 20s, light from 16s, best cows to 19s; a. few extra to 21s; prime medium 16s to 18s#; inferior from 12s; best heifers 20s to 225; medium 18s to 20s. The fat pigs comprised a very mixed yarding. The porkers lacked quality. Best grades sold firmly, but other lots* were dull of sale. Baconers were in short supply, and had a firm sale. Porkejrs fetched 26s 6d to 30s 6d; heavy 33s 6d to 38s 6d; extra heavy to 42g 6d; baconers 48s 6d to 55s 6d; heavv 58s 6d to £3 4s 6d; extra to £3 10s 6d.
