The weather report and. forecast arc as follows; General situation: An intense anti cyclone is still centred near Chatham Island, while depressions ar»' localtod respectively in the northern and southern portions of the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds north-cast to northerly’,, turning later to north-west in the far south, light to moderate at first, but increasing. Seas, in New Zealand waters: Rather rough to rough north of East Cape, and an increasing swell on the West Coast; otherwise smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong northerly winds and rather rough seas. Weathei mainly fair in the eastern districts, and rain in the western and southern portions of the South Island, also in the north-eastern portion-of the North Island, and developing later north of Auckland. Temperatures mild.
