RUGBY IN BULLER

UNION MEETING. Mr A. Colvin was in the chair at the weekly meeting of the Buller Rugby Union on Monday evening. The arrangement of a friendly match for bachelors (Denniston) with a West Coast junior team at Greymouth, was Jett to the Secretary. The names of A. Duncan and H. Richards were added to Bachelors’ junior list. The Secretary was instructed to advise Stockton Club that F. Connew was added to the list of referees. May 25 was agreed upon for the home-and-home match at Westport with Greymouth. The selectors were instructed to decide on the Bugler team after next week-end games. It was agreed to advise the West Coast Union that the junior home-and-home games would be arranged later in the season. The Technical School team was instructed to change their jerseys when playing Ngakawau owing to the sameness of colour and the Union would assist them in the matter. The Secretary was instructed to supply T. J. Shaw with a certificate regarding an accident he met with in a football matdh. Rovers (Granity) were granted permission to play a •match at Greymouth on June 1. At the request of the Rover Club F. Greenhaigh and P. Power were re-classified from senior to junior. It was also decided that, a Stockton junior’s suspension incurred in the Stockton-Rover fixture be lifted and he be forwarded a caution; that A. Colvin be Buller selector in conjunction with the West Coast selector in choosing the BullerWest Coast team to play Nelson-Alarl-borough-Golden Bay on May 29 at Nelson; that T. Al organ, T. Diamond, AV. Dawson and B. Murray be added to Mokihinui list; that a letter from the Referees’ Association re absent rerefees be received -as satisfactory; that a sub-committee, Alessrs Colvin, Ryan and Craddock arrange for a tour of 22 players and a manager to Ashburton, South Canterbury, North Otago, Otago and Marlborough, and report within one month; that September 7 be confirmed as a suitable date for a match with Wellington; that delegate AV. Craddock’s report be received as satisfactory and he be thanked for his services; that a letter of thanks be forwarded to Air Al. F. Nicholls for his services as delegate at the New Zealand Union and he be congratulated on being re-appointed solo selector for Wellington.
