JUBILEE FILMS

DUBLIN REPUBILCANS HOSTILE. (Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, May 13. The gates of the Dublin Police Court were barred during the hearing of the case in which James Fullerton and another man who refused to give his name, were charged with assaulting the police. Evidence showed that the men were posting leaflets signed by the Republican Safety Committee, declaring there would be provocative grave disorder if jubilee films were exhibited in Ireland. They resisted arrest, but quietened after' the policemen fired shots in the air. The Magistrate, at first, sentenced the men to two months’ imprisonment, but when the men persisted in shouting “Up with the Republic” the sentence was increased to six months.
