FIREMEN'S ACCIDENT. (Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.) MELBOURNE, May 12. Buried beneath a pile of red hot
masonry and bricks, from a fallen wall, four firemen were seriously injured at a factory which was destroyed. The wall toppled, following a series of explosions as hundreds of tins of lacquer and varnish ignited. The men were extricated with difficulty. LATER . William McCurdy, 65, offieer-in-
charge of the Richmond Fire Brigade, died from injuries.
