THE WEATHER
(Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, May 32,
The weather report and forecast areas follows: General situation: An anticyclone has been covering New Zealand, its centre being located to the south-east, while a depression remained over the western Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds north-easterly to northerly, light to moderate, but gradually freshening. Seas, in New Zealand waters: Rather rough between Cook Strait and East- Cape; elsewhere smooth to moderate; but rising south of Cape Egmont. Eastern Tasman Sea: Freshening northerly winds; moderate but rising seas. Weather still mainly fair to fine, but cloud is gradually increasing, and rain is developing shortly in the western and far southern portions of the South Island. It will be cold to-night, but the temperatures are becoming gradually milder.
