The whereabouts of the Navy Air Squadron of 48 planes which left yesterday on the mass flight remains a complete secret. Observers have assumed that they must have landed ('ither at French Frigate Shoals, 500 miles from Honolulu, or at Hermes’ Reef. Near Midway, where it is believed that some units of the Fleet are operating. Navy officials in Washington, however, state that not all of the planes would fly to Midway. A
t-ojisorship at Midway is admitted in Washington, where it was said that Admiral Joseph Reeves, commanding the Fleet, had -un doubt edlv sent a vessel to the island to regulate the dispatches from the cable office.
Observers here conclude thn' the planes camp down for the night near some of the one hundred and fiftythree ships of the Fleet known to be in the vicinity of French Frigate Shoals, or Pearl and Hermes’ Reef. They could have alighted easily in 'he coral encircled waters, obtained ru.'l and service from the warshipsji.d continued their operations.
