Hamilton accumulated sentences totalling three hundred and sixty-three years for crimes committed before he was 21 year? old. He died specifically for shooting Major Cruwson, a prison guard, during a. gaol delivery in January, 1934. This was alleged to have been engineered by the late Clyde Bar row. Joe Palmer, who shot his way out with Hamilton, died with him to-day. Both of the men were last week baptised in. the Catholic Church. Three other bandits, namely Garner. Thielen and Hoff, were executed, after the fourth member of their gang had committed suicide. They killed a bank cashier and shot dead two Sheriffs, who intervened in their flight next day. There were five executions, which occupied seventeen minutes.
