New N.Z. District
SANCTION NOT YET GIVEN. (Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.) (Received May 13- at 7 p.m.) BRISBANE, May 12. The Triennial Conference of the National Directory Officers and the interstate Deputies of the Hibernian Australasian Catholic Benefit Society is being held here. The conference has decided to recommend to the National Directory that the recognition of the new New Zealand Northern District be withheld, pending the production of the approbation of the New Zealand Hierarchy, and that the New Zealand National Directory take all possible measures to [ ensure the unity of the Society in New Zealand.
The conference has also recommended the deputies to welcome an offer of the New Zealand District to assist the New Zealand Northern District in obtaining the Bishops’ approval.
