The draw for the first round of the Davis Cup on May 11 is as follows:— Crawford v. Andrews; McGrath v. Stedman. May 13: Crawford and Quist v. Stedman and Malfroy. May 14: Crawford v. Stedman, McGrath v. And rews. The singles will begin at 2.30 p.in. and the doubles at 2.45 p.m. New balls will be used every seventh game. The play will close at seven in the evening, unless the captains agree that the light justifies a continuance. Stedman was selected first and Andrews only after playing Malfroy today. Hopman, correspondent of the “SunHerald” says: I participated in the New Zealand doubles practice, and found Andrews the best.
