May 10. “The Times’s” Baghdad correspondent says: A British aeroplane. while flying over an area in the middle Euphrates prox*b*ces,' where some tribes recently revolted, was fired on. The plane crashed in flames. LONDON Mav 10. The occupants of the British machine in the Euphrates region were Pilot Officer Newman and Aircraftsman Hawkins. Mr Parkhill, announced to-day that specia’ aeroplanes are being despatched from Brisbane to Singapore to connect wi h the Imperial Airways after the arrival of the New Zealand jubilee ii* mail about May 17. Air Parkhill said he expected Sir C. Kingsford Smith to bring a ton of mail matter from the Dominion for the United Kingdom.
