FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE RISK.

NEW PLYMOUTH, May 10.

The North Taranaki Executive of the Farmers’ Union to-day passed a resolution in favour of lifting the em bargo on the importation of livestock withholding its approval, however, until an assurance is given by the Government that machinery exists for coping with an outbreak of foot and mouth disease in New Zealand, should such occur.
