WOMAN KILLED
BY MOTOR TRUCK. (Per Press Association). AUCKLAND, May 10. Shocking injuries to the head, which proved instantly fatal, were received by a widow, Mrs Jessie Addis, aged 71, when she was run over by a motor truck in the city. Mrs Addis, who lived in Pukekohe, was visiting Auckland for the day. The motor truck. which emerged from lower Commerce Street, to cross Customs Street, was driven by L. J. Munro, of Onehunga. Mrs Addis was walking along Customs Street in the direction of *be Railway Station, and was crossing* - lower Commerce Street, when she was struck. The accident was witnessed by a newsboy, who was on the opposite side of + he street. He said that, as Mrs Addis wag crossing, she dropned a bag that she was carrying and stopped to pick it up. She was struck as shft started walking again. The +*ront part of the truck struck herknocking her down. She fell partly beneath the truck. One of the twin rear wheels passed over her head, causing instant death.
