The death took place at Reefton yesterday of Mr John Humphrey, a widely-known and respected resident. Deceased, who suffered from the dreaded miners’ phthisis, which ultimately caused his death, ftvas for some years President of the Inangahua Gold and Coal Aliners’ Union. In latter years- he had been engaged in farming operations. He is survived by two sons residing at Blenheim and one daughter. Airs Joseph Panckhurs 4 of Reefton. His wife predeceased him some years ago. The funeral will take place this (Friday) afternoon at 2 oarlock, leaving th*e residence of his daughter.
