As a result of the investigations by officials of the State Miners’ Union and Labour Department officials, into the pay records, 16 Bunanga and five Greymouth truekers and outside workers at the Liverpool State Mine were tound to be entitled to unemployment relief, varying from 12 days at 10/a day down to 14 days Mr. W. Pendlebury, Secretary of the State Miners’ Union yesterday paid a tribute to Messrs P. C. Webb and Jas. O’Brien, M’sP., who through their efforts on a recent visit to Wellington persuaded, the Government to send down the representatives of the Unemployment Board, Messrs Jaekson and Beauford.
