Spiral Wins Handicap (Per, press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 20. The Spring meeting of the Wellington Racing Club opened at Trentham to-day in brilliant Spring weather. The attendance was large and the track was soft and slow. The tote handlefl £21,257/10/-, as against £23,953 on the opening day last vear, a decrease of £2,695/10/-. An inquiry was held after the Wellington Handicap, into the riding of Polydora. After hearing the evidence of the trainer, H. Nurse, and the rider M. Kirwan, the Stewards suspended Kirwan for two months. The Stewards also inquired into interference by Nightlass with Legatee in the Wellesley Stakes, and found the happening was accidental, and no action, was taken. Results: GLEN HURDLES.—4/4 CHILE (Burgess) 1; 2/2 Illuminate (R. EThomson) 2; 3/3 Palm (Nicol) 3. Also started: 3/1 Revision, 5/5 Diamond. Won by ten lengths; a head. Time 3.18 1-4.
