THE WEATHER
WELLINGTON, October 19. The weather report and forecast are as follows: —General situation: The recent depression now passed eastwards, and a moderate anta-cyclone is crossing the north Tasman Sea. Barometers are falling again /over eastern Australia. Forecast: Wi.nds moderate to fresh, south-west to 'west predominating, and veering ,to north-west later in the far south. Seas in New Zealand waters; Rather rough on the west coast; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Variable winds, light to moderate south-west to north-west predominating; seas smooth to moderate. Weather stilt rather unsettled; jrassing showers at times in most districts, but gradually improving. Temperatures cold, and frosts inland in the South Island. Conditions for the week-end appear favourable, but a re uncertain for Monday, especially ; in the South Island.
