AUSTRALIA V. AUCKLAND. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, September 15. On a ground which suited the visitors, the Australian hockey team drew with Auckland in a keenly-eo-nitested game. Auckland were superior in the first half, establishing a two to nil lead at half time. Australia recovered, and shortly before time were leading three—two, when Auckland scored on the whistle. Auckland’s goals in the first spell came from E Wat'ts and Robertson, scoring in quick succession. Australia replied with spasmodic attacks, which failed, -through lack of combination. Milner scored for Australia. early in the second spell, and after a sustained attack. Rothwell ran in following a penalty corner. After saving several shdts, the Auckland goalkeeper was beaten by a high ball from Penman. E. Watts scored Auckland’s final goal from a corner.
