CRICKET

TOUR ENDS Australian Team HAS AMUSING SCOTTISH GAME. (Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, September 14. In the last match of the tour the Australians defeated North Scotland at Forres by an innings and 20 runs. The Australians in all played 34 matches, won 15, drew IS, and lost one (a test). It was a happy day’s cricket of village green standard, and the umpires wore plus fours. Seventy minute'' sufficed to dismiss North Scotland for thew lowest score made against the Australians in the tour. The batsmen were extremely nervous, despite the fact that none of the bowlers was trying very hard. The whole affair was \juite absurd from a cricket point of view.

The Australians opened tail first. After O’Reilly had hit four sixers. Kemp dismissed McCabe and Bradman with successive balls. The innings was carefree and lasted only 85 minutes. When Scotland batted the second time McCabe kept wickets instead of Barnett, who opened the bowling, but the Scotsmen fared little better. Scores. NORTH OF SCOTLAND—Jst Innings. Jardine’s wedding to Miss Margaret Irene Peat, younger daughter of Sir I) any and Lady Peat, at St. George’s, Hanover Square, although many followers of the game crowded the gallery and the church and pavement. In the match Champion County v. the Rest. Lancashire in its first innings made 206 (H. B. Duckworth 69, W. E. Bowes 4 for 73, 11. Verity, 4 for 50).
