BIBLE IN SCHOOLS. NELSON, August 22. The .Committee of the Bible in Schools League, members of which are responsible for carrying out bible teaching in Nelson school under the Nelson system, passed a resolution ns follows: “That, whereas under the Nelson system only about half of the children in the province are reached, and whereas it is impossible to reach all isolated schools ,this branch of ths League, all members of which are teachers under the Nelson system, strongly urge the passing of the Bill now before the House.’’ TRANSPORT CO-ORDINATION DUNEDIN, Augus t 21. A deputation from the Dunedin Master Carriers’ and Custom House Agents’ Association approached the No. 9 Transport Licensing Authority, suggesting that th ( » proper basis of rail and road co-ordination was that the railways should deal with all long-distance haulage, with n mobile fleet, of city and town carriers to deal with shore haulage to and from the railways.
