LEAVING CERTIFICATES

FIRST EXAMS THIS YEAR. MIN IST E R’s ST ATEM E N T. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON. Augu-t 22. Preparations for the holding of the School Leaving Certificate 'Examination under regulations gazetted earlier in the year are well jn train, stated the Minister of Education. Mr Masters,, when interviewed to-night. He added that the linst examination for the Certificate would be held about the first week in December. The Minister said that the extent to which the Certificate would be accepted by employing and qualifying authorities was already very encouraging. Among the bodies which, the Minister stated, would recognise ’he Certificate, were, generally, the Public Service, the General Post Office, the Government Railways Department, lhe New Zealand Bank Officers Guild, the Association of Accountants, the Autialian Institute of Secretaries, an 1 the New Zealand Division of the Association of Commercial Science of New Zealand.
