C.J.C. Concludes LINCOLN TO MEMBO. ROYAL LINEAGE WINS. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, August 18. The U.J.C. Grand National Meeting concluded to-day. The weather was wet early, after heavy overnight rain, but cleared later in the afternoon. The track was heavy. The attendance was good under the conditions. The tote investments amounted to £25,158 as against £32,343, and the total for the meeting was £89,942, compared with £91,381/10/- last year. Rounding the far turn, Ventrac led from Cleaner, followed by Lady Spy. Tiger Gain, Beau Geste, Mercian Prince, Chhota and Sweet Agnes. Ventrac and Cleaner were together crossing the top, and led into the straight from Tiger Gain, Mercian Prince, Polydora, Sweet Agnes and Water Power. Mercian Prince led at the distance from Cleaner and Sweet Agnes, but the last named finished strongly and beat Mercian Prince by half a length. Cleaner was two lengths away, and Silver Sight was fourth. Time 2.1.

Kapuna and Valpeen led over Cutts from Membo, Thurina, Umtali, Billy Boy and Peterette. Valpeen and Kapuna were together at the Kennels Double and led past the stands from Thurina, Membo and Peterette. Thurina jumped to the front at Cutts, and was followed down the back by Kapuna, who fell at the first sod wall. Thurina was three lengths clear of Valpeen and Membo at the Kennels, but Valpeen fell heavily at the top sod 'wall. Menibo run up to Thurina approaching the top brush, and led over the last fence. Membo won by twelve lengths from Thurina. Peterette was ten lengths away, and Billy Boy further back. Time 6.11 3-5. Tn its annual report, the committee of the Forbury Park Trotting Club states that during the year the stakeoffered were increased by £ll5O. The purchaser of Rapina was William Inglis and Son, Sydney, who also bought Senlight, the twelve-years-old dam of Weatherwise, and a half-sister to Pillow Fight, and a foal by Philamol. The price of Senlight and the foal was 210 guineas. Other sales included Jay Round, by Gay Lad, to J. J. McGrath, 160 guineas. Bonrose, by Boniform, to J. J. McGrath, 125 guineas. It was the best sale of brood mares since 1929. REDLOCK RUNG IN. TRAINER ARRESTED. ADELAIDE, August 17. C. Prince, owner and trainer of the horse called Redlock, and the horse, have been disqualified for life by the South Australian Jockey Club stewards. As he left the inquiry room, Prince was arrested by detectives, and later was charged with having obtained stake money at Murray Bridge, by falsely pretending that a certain horse ■was Redlock. The horse was impounded. It is alleged that the horse which won the race was Erbie. The real Redlock is now at Malmsbury, Victoria. ADELAIDE, August 18. Allegations that the horse called Redlock was in reality Erbie, who has

Starting at long odds in a race reserved for horses which had not previously won £125 in prize money, a mysterious horse, Hallenc-ourt, not only won easily, but broke the existing course record. The jockey took the horse straight to the exit. The stewards ’ inquiries revealed that everyone connected with the horse had vanished, after collecting four thousand sterling from the totalisator. Subsequently it was found that the t.ainer had placed Halleneourt in a van bound for the South of France, and had sold it en route. He also sold it before his departure, as part of a valuable stable. The horse and trainer cannot now be traced. KNOCKLONG SOLD. The well-known West Coast performer, Knoeklong, has been sold to Mr. Reid, of Selwyn, and will be trained in future by A. E. Didham, of Win gatui. E J. Pinn. the sixteen-year-o'd Runanga youth, who has been apprenticed to A. S. Ell'is, Washdyke, lias been granted his jockey’s license.
