DO W LI N G —G ’ KKG AN The Church of St. Francis de Sales, Island Bay, Wellington, was crowded to the doors on lhe morning of Saturday, April 21st, when Isabel Cicely, second daughter of Air. and Mrs. P, J. O’Regan, was united in matrimony to William Patrick, eldest, son of Mrs. John O’Donnell of ('lyde Street, Island Bay. The Very Rev. Father Maloney officiated, and the ceremony was followed by a Nuptial Mass, in which the choir assisted, special features being the singing of () Salutaris (Bordesi) l»y Mr. Egerton Pegg and Ave Maria (Gounod) by Mrs. R. O’Regan. Miss M. Redican was at, the organ. 'l'he Altar had been decorated for (he occasion b\ the Children of Mary, of which the bride was a member. 'l'he bride who was escorted by her father through a guard of honour formed by the Children of Mary, wore a beautiful French model gown of ivory doeskin satin, cut on classic lines, the bodice being finished with a Medici collar. The sleeves whip long and puffed lo the elbow with long tight, cuffs, smocked at the wrist, ami she wore short white kid gloves, finished with a smart, silk niching. Her veil (if lovely Carrielc macross lace made by the Nuns of Dundalk, Ireland, the gift of Mrs. M. Mackin, was worn off the face, and caught at the sides with orange blossoms, and her bouquet of cream roses and maiden-hair fern completed a very eharmipg picture. The three bridesmaids wore French model gowns—Misses Maisio O’Donnell and Doris Fanning of primrose panne velvet, and Miss Cassie O’Donnell a gown of powder blue chiffon velvet, each wearing a small felt hat to match and carrying a bouquet of anemone roses and delphiniums. Their lovely crystal necklaces were the gift of the bridegroom. Miss Rosalie O’Regan (niece of the bride), carrying a posy of blue delphiniums and wearing a Kate Greenaway frock of creme crepe de chine with blue sash, mittens and shoes and Victorian niched bonnet, made a charming little train-bearer. Mrs. I*. .1. O’Regan. mother of tin 4 bride, wore a royal blue Russian ensemble. with stone marten furs, her hat of loyal blue being relieved with bioge mount, and she carried a bouquet of autumn tunings. Mrs. O’Donnell. mother of the bridegroom wore a black ami white ensemble, the coat having a large fawn fox collar. She wore a black and while hat and carried a bouquet of red roses. Mrs J. O’Regan (Tnangaliua) aunt of the bride, wore a brown crepe-de-chine costume with fur and hat to match.. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Janies Dowling as best man. and Messrs G. J. O’Regan and M. .1, Kennedy were groomsmen. The presents included gills from the Choir, the Children of Mary, and the Vincent do Paul Society. with which the bride had been prominent ly identified. During the afternoon a reception was held at the Royal Oak Hotel, the lounge of which was most artistically decorated with flowers in shades of primrose am] bine. When Mr. and Mrs. Dowling left on their tour, the bride wore a brown tailored costume and hat to match, with stone marten furs.
