(Per Press Association ) WELLINGTON. May 2. The weather report and forecast are as follows:—General situation: Pres sure is still very high to the east of New Zealand. A small cyclonic depression is centred north-west of North Cape. A low pressure trough extends southward from it across Eastern Tasman- Sea. Forecast: Strong, north-west to northerly winds, reaching gale force, in parts of far north, backing later •to west and south-west in the far siiutliern districts. Seas in New Zea land waters rough north of East Cape and becoming rough later on the west coast; ‘elsewhere, moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong nor'heriy winds, backing later to southerlies;. seas rough. Weather cloudy to overcast in the western and northern districts, with fairly general rain developing, und extending later to the eastern parts. Temperatures mild, but gradually becoming cooler trj-morrow.
