(Our Own Correspondent.) REEFTON. May 2. A,t the householders’ meeting held at Black’s Point on Monday evening, the following were elected as a School Committee; Messrs A'l.iller, Ivey, P. Carr. Avery. S. Blocking aud Mrs J. White. Mr S. Hocking was elected < Chairman. Mr Miller Secretary ami Mr (t-irr Treasurer. A resolution was also carried asking the Minister of Elduca.tion to remove the restriction of age of entry of children from six years to live. Formerly well-known here. where she Ws’is a. frequent visitor, Mrs Rene Williams, died recently at. Tapanui. She was a daughter of Mr J. Taylor (Cobden), and her husband. Mr F. Williams is manager of the Tapanui branch of the National Bank. 'i’he condition of Mr J. McEwin. of Waiuta. continues -to show improve ment, and last evening he had regained full cousciousm'ss, and was reported as making good progress. The quartz miners are standing solid in their light for a better standard of living and all who know the mortality raft's in their industry must recognise that they have a jast. cause. No doubt, the Australian miners will come to the support of their comrades .
