The Wanganui Mystery (Per Press Association). WANGANUI, June 17. Three leather bags containing silver to the value of £313, which disappeared from a taxi on June 4 were discovered yesterday among some scrub on the roadside on the Great North Road, eleven miles north of Wanganui. Detectives had been diligently searcWßf for the past week. John Ralph Penny, the taxi-driver, who brought William Toomey, the corner of the silver, from Auckland, is at present on remand charged with theft. « AUCKLAND. June IS.
