(To the Editor.) Sir, —At the usual monthly meeting of the Westport branch of the Labour Party, I notice Air. 11. Smith, Secretary of the Denniston Miners’ Union, was nomina-ted for tin* position of President of the L.R.C. I would like to ask those concerned if twelve months secretaryship of Miners’ Union is sufficient guarantee .for qualification for such an important position— Yours, etc., U N lON IST.
