British Mail Carrier
FLIGHT TO AUSTRALIA ANTICIPATED. (Received June 16 at 9.30 pm.) LONDON, June 16. Britain’s fastest mail carrier, a twin engined Boulton and Paul plane, built at the order of Air Ministry, has made a successful demonstration flight at Norwich. The machine is designed lor Empire routes, and is capable of a thousand miles non-stop flight <it 150 miles per hour at half throttle and 200 miles at top speed Mails may be sorted on rout< . ami dropped or picked up. without landing. Storage is provided for one thousand pounds weight of mail. It is understool that a test flight to Australia is comtemplated. The machine could reach Capetown in three days and Port Darwin in under seven.
