(Our Own Correspondent.) Airs. Logan and Aliss Al. Logan who have been residing here for some months, have returned to Wellington. Messrs W. Clayton and J. Byrne, members of the Inangahua County Council, accompanied by the recentlyappointed County Engineer, Air. Al. Fennell, inspected the local roads on Tuesday. Air. Con. Hcrlihy, Hari Hari, is spending a few days in the township renewing old friendships. At the recent Charity Ball held in Wellington, Aliss Kftthlecn Cameron, daughter of Air. and Mrs D. Cameron (Waiuta), was one of the charming debutantes presented to His Grace. Archbishop O’Shea. Aliss Cameron wore a striking frock of ivory ring velvet, cut on classical lines with ermine trimmings, shoes and mittens to tone. Her posy of white roses and autumn-tinted leaves, toned very daintily with a beautiful wrap of gold lame, fashioned on Russian lines. Among the debutantes presented to His Lordship Bishop Brodie, at the Debutantes Ball in Greymouth. oij Tuesday evening was Miss Agues Hempseed, daughter of Mr. and Airs. R. AL Hempseed, who was charmingly attired in a smart frock of ivory chiffon velvet. Air. AlcLaren (Westport), an expert, in the art of metal divining, has been spending a few days here under engagement to the Blackwater Mines. Air. L. W. Stephens. Director of the School <d’ Mines. Reefton, paid his , usual visit to the township on Tuesday. Alessrs E. Alitchell and party completed the tunnel for the Snowy River Suicing Company on Friday. The tunnel is 1300 feet long, driven through solid rock. A good connec- | tion was made, a tribute to the work of tin* surveyor. Air. Tom Learmont (Greymouth i.
