SUGAR INDUSTRY
INCREASE IN INDIA. (Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.) (Received Juno 15 at 9.30 p.m.) CALCUTTA, June 15. The growth of the sugar industry is indicated in the figures issued, which show that the imports of sugar into India were halved during the pa-st two vears since the import duty was doubled, and imports of sugar machinery increased five-fold in twelve months. The growth of tho factory industry, which is officially encouraged, has been a great boon to the small grower of sugn-r cane.
