I he weather report and forecast are as follows: General situation: A depression which crossed the South Island during Tuesday night has deepened somewhat in passing eastwards. Another anti-cyclone is advancing across the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds south-westerly to south-easterly, moderate mainly, but strong at first in a few exposed positions. Seas (N.Z. waters): Rather rough about Cook [and Foveaux Straits; elsewhere, smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea; Moderate south-west winds, with moderate seas. Weather: Changeable at first, with scattered showers, mainly on the coasts, but soon becoming fair to fine again generally, with cold I emperatures.
