HARIHARI NOTES

(Our Own Correspondent.) Alessrs Ogilvie and Co., sawmillers, of Greymouth, a.re getting ready for the erection of a sawmill at the southern end of Duncan McLean’s property here. Messrs Barrett and party, who secured the contract a few weeks ago for the further extension of La Fontaine road, will have the work completed by the cud of this week. Alessrs Robertson and party, contractors for the further extension of Peterson Road, are waiting for a couple of lorries to carry out the gravelling of this work, which will take about six weeks to complete. The majority of the farmers here have turned the “herds’’ out for the winter. The local factory here will close up for the season about the 20th of this month. Elari Hari has been experiencing some very heavy frosts this past week along with bright sunny days. Mr. AL Collett passed through here on Monday with a nice line of Jersey Shorthorn heifers from Waiho (Jorge. A truck of frat vealers were forwarded to Addington on Tuesday from the AVataroa district. This Hari Hari flat will be well represented at Greymouth to-day (Thursday), for the annual meeting of the West Coast Herd Testing Association. A meeting will be hold here to-mor-row night to form a sub-L nion to further promote Rugby football in the southern districts.
