ILLEGAL ON SUNDAYS S.M. Says it Must Cease (Per Press Association). NEW PLYMOUTH. June 14. The question as to whether newspapers could be sold and distributed in New Plymouth on a Sunday was raised at the Police Court t- ’Jav when a bookseller was charged with selling papers on Sunday evening. He said that he had followed the prac live tUr some years. ('uuncil said that at Auckland di-' tribution, but not actual sale. a! papers was allowed on Sundays. The police said even if that was the mouth police would not allow it. The charge was dismissed, but the Magistrate warned the bookseller that the practice must cense.
