Sub-Division Matches TE KINGA BEAT KOTUKU. Te Kinga defeated Kotuku at Te Kinga on Sunday by 1‘; points to nil, after a hard forward bailie, To Kinga pack being much superior in all departments of the game and they were well supported by their backs. Kotuku forwards, however, never let up, but were handicapped by the poor support afforded by,their backs. The teams were as follows: Te Kinga (red and black); C. Cowan, Beams, Hodgkinson. Te Kinga were attacked after the interval and Kotuku obtained relief when Te Kinga were penalised right inside the posts, J. Molloy lining at the 25, with a good kick. From the line out the forwards struggled hard for possession until Kotuku were penalised, but a miss kick gained little ground. Te Kinga kept at it and only determined defensive play by the Kotuku forwards kept the score down. Roigard was saving with quick short [kicks to the line. find touch and T. Hibbs fielding, gained little ground with a kick into touch. From the throw in a serum was called, Te Kinga hooking and pushing the Kotuku pack clean away from the ball. . W. The Te Kinga forwards dribbled through to the Kotuku line where Caesar snapped up and lined at the 25 with a smart kick. T. Hibbs received from the line out and made a , determined dash for the line before being grassed, the ball going over the line for Kotuku to obtain relief with a force. From the drop out T. Hibbs to gather up and send to Hodgkinson to Cosgrove, who was pushed out ten yards from the line. Kotuku were penalised and C. Cowan made a fine but unsuccessful attempt at goal, the ball dropping a little short. Te Kinga had Kotuku in trouble until Caesar dodged through cleverly, but hung on instead of kicking. Roigard pioked the ball off their feet to line at half way. From the throw-in Maughan gave an exhibition of dribbling, going half the length of the field, Kotuku gaining relief with a, force down. From the drop-out Te Kinga attacked, Roigard relieving with a good line kick past the 25 flag. Caesar gained further ground and Hodgkinson kicked hurriedly to touch and Kotuku worked into an attacking position, after a long period of defence. Te Kinga were penalised, J. Molloy taking a shot at goal from a handy position, but the ball went wide. From the * drop-out Southern sent back to Hibbs, who lined at the half way. From the line-out T. Southern gained ten yards with a quick kick. W. Becker was eaught offside and .T. Molloy had another unsuccessful shot at goal, the ball falling short. Hibbs fielded and kicked out at the 25.
