SHOPLIFTING CHARGE. (Per Press Association). AUCKLAND. June 13. A charge, of shoplifting against a young farmer was dismissed by the Court to-day. Shop assistants said that the accused man was found with articles inside his coat, lie had been a customer of the firm for a long time. Tin. defence contended that a grave mistake had been made. The goods inside the coat could be easily seen, ami accused was carrying them to a counter to be wrapped. Supporting evidence was given that accused’s character was unimpeachable. The Magistrate said' accused should have the benefit of the doubt.
