Willis, Tent and Cover Maker, Mackay Street (opposite “Argus” Office), Greymouth — Advt. Careless marking out of areas by men taking gold claims is often dis closed in cases that come before the Warden’s Court. Even experienced miners have shown inaptitude in such matters, with the result that they find somebody else jumping their claim, and they are put to con side table expense. One applicant stated that he had tied bogus papers on pegs as a blind. “Women often smoke too fast and too furiously,” Professor Stevens told his class at an Illinois University, adding, “the only way to get genuine psycliological benefit out of smoking is to completely rela-x when you light up, and take it easy. That is why men find a pipe more satisfying than a hurried cigarette. If you would really enjoy smoking, smoke a pipe.” Quite true. But the professor might have said something about the paramount importance of selecting your weed with judgment. Many a man has “gone under” as the result of smoking the wrong tobacco —tobacco, that is, saturated with nicotine. Fortunately for New Zealanders the tobaccos in common use in this country, i.e., Riverhead Gold, Navy Cut No. 3 (Bulldog). Cavendish and Cut Plug No. 10 (Bullshead) are subjected to a special purifying process which gets rid of the nicotine while at the same time developing flavour and aroma-. These, be it noted, are the only genuine toasted brands. None others are manufactured. Their success has resulted in imitations getting on to the market. Take care what von buy!
