THE WEATHER
(Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, .June 9. The weather report and forecast are as follows; General situation; An intense anti-cyclone now covers the South Island and a cyclone is passing the Dominion far to the northward. A slight depression is advancing across the south Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds moderate to strong, south-east-erlies prevailing in the northern half of the North Island, and moderate to strong westerlies in the far soutli; elsewhere, variable light to moderate. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rather rough, to rough north of Castlepoint, with a south-easterly swell; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea; Winds light to moderate, easterlies prevailing in the northern portion' and westerlies in the southern, with seas smooth to moderate. Weather: Mainly fine, with showers still likely between Hawke’s Bay and the East Cape and in parts of the extreme north, later about Foveaux Strait, with .cold nights and many frosts, hut mild|er to-morrow.
