SPANISH GOVERNMENT RESIGNS
PRESIDENT AND PREMIER DISAGREE. (Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.) MADRID, June S. Following a disagreement between tho President and the Premier, the Government has resigned. Zamora declared he must consult tho Republicans regarding Ministerial changes suggested by Azana, who interpreted this as a lack of confidence. The President was recently the centre of a first-class imbroglio in connection with the Religious Orders Bill.
Religious Orders Bill SIGNED RELUCTANTLY. .MADRID, June 9. Behind the resignation lies President Zamora’s disapproval of the Religious Orders Bill, which it is understood he signed with greatest reluctance. The passage of tho Bill however left him for the first time, in possession of full Presidential powers, under the Republican Constitution for the bill completed the programme of legislation for which tho present Parliament was elected on June 28, 1931. It is believed, in influential quarters that Senor Azana will return to the Premiership.
