FANCY DRESS BALL

Main School Pupils Floor space at the Town Hall was fully occupied with juveniles last evening, the occasion being the grand children’s fancy dress ball organised by the teaching staff of the Grey Main School in aid of the school funds. There was a striking array of fancy costumes, and the judges, Mrs Boyd and. Miss D. Broad, had a difficult problem in making their various awards. The children, derived great enjoyment out of the. dancing items. A dainty supper was provided, the Ladies’ Committee consisting of the following, all working arduously to this end: Mesdames Sharp, Morrison. McDonald, McMullan, Reeves, Mcllroy, Chalk, Barrowman, McDougall, and Misses Cooper, Robertson and Shaw. The Committee wish to acknowledge with thanks prizes from the following: Walter Bros., hand mirror; P. Beck, cups and plates; J. Tennent, cut glass vase; W. H. Boucher, box of chocolates; A. Peters, box handkerchiefs; Haglund Bros, fruit dish; A. E. Kilgour, books. The Chair-, man'of the Main School Committee,' Mr R. A. Barrowman. thanked the teachers, parents and donors of prizes for their assistance, which was much appreciated.
