Wood, a well known boring superintendent and gold mining expert who has done extensive prospecting at Okarito and other place s in Westland, has left for the Upper Ahaura River, Grey Walley, under engagement to the. Daylight Gold Prospecting Syndicate, for the purpose of thoroughly testing and proving a couple of miles of virgin country, which has given some rich dish prospects. Dr. A. Oakey, who for the past two years has been in practice at the Invercargill Hospital, a nd previously nt the Wellington Hospital, has taken up his residence a t Hokitika.
