SUDDEN ILLNESS ON WARSHIP. AUCKLAND. December 7. When the sloop Laburnum was an- < hored at Kawau this evening. Potty Officer W. Hitchcock became suddenly ill. and the vessel made a hurried return io port. The Laburnum left Kaan nt 5.45 p.m.. arriving in the harl.our at 10.45 p.m. A pinnace from Til.- Diomede was waiting, and Hitcheoek. whose condition was serious, was lushed ashore to the waiting ambulance. He was admitted to Auckland Hospital.
