LESS THAN £200,000 In Supplementary Votes (From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) ELLINGTON, December 7. In the Supplementary Estimates, th? votes in the Ordinary Revenue Account total £133.51’1. and the votes under the Public Works Fund amount to £59.34.. The following items of interest an- taken from the estimates: — HIGH COMMISSIONER’S OFFICE. A vote of £.»un has been made for additional expenses of N<w Zealand delegates to the Disarmament Conference. The »,t misappropriations from lhe High Commissioner’s Office are A grant of £365 is made to the widow Of the late Mr G. C. C. Black, M.P. The expenses of the visit to the Cook Islands of lhe Minister of Native Af fairs (4<ir A. Ngata) and his private secretary is set down at. £lO2. An amount of £3OO is provided tn meet the <o>t of by-elections. COMMISSION COSTS. Additional expenses of the Mortagors’ Relief (‘ommissions arc shown a? £5oo”. An additional sum of £650 is voted to the Police Department for expense’s in connection with street riots ami disorder. Provision is made for the expenditure of £ss’l on the repair of earthquake damage at Wairoa. WAITANGI RESERVE. The vote of the Department of Lands and (Survey includes a vote of £5OO f«»r compensation for land taken in connection with the Waitangi Reserve. ami :i further vote of £250 for the renovation of buildings, fences. FERTILISERS. There is a vote of £lO.OOO (additional > for the carriage of lime for bona fide farmers, and £5OOO (additional) for subsidies to the manufacturers of superphosphate. WHEAT DEAL. Provision is made for £70,000 for the purchase of milling wheat in Australia, but it is estimated that this amount will be returned to the Crown. ONAKAKA IRON. An additional sum of £llOO is included in the Mines Department vote as a bounty to the Onakaka Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. The sum of £1358 is provided in the Post Office account for additional interest payable to the New Zealand Radio Broadcasting Co.. Ltd., ou radio license fees not paid over. Thp cost in connection with the establishment of the State Advances Commission Agencies is shown as £l7BO. Items of interest from the uuauthoiised expenditure account include the tollowing: — HONOLULU TRIP. Expenses of the Comptroller uf Customs on the delegation to Honolulu in (onnedion with the New Zealand and Canadian Trade Treaty totalling £240 Ils Pd. Expenses of the Minister of Customs and party to Honolulu, £617 15s 6d. For potatoes supplied to indigent natives then* is a vote of £635 3s sd.
