JOCKEY’S SENTENCES. WELLINGTON, December 6. Leslie Cyril AlcCarthy, jockey and labourer, aged 31, on eight charges of stea’ing bikes, two of receiving stolen property, and one o'f the unlawful con version of a ear, -was sentenced bv Air Page, S.M.. to two terms of si?< mouths’ to be cumulative. An allegation that he forged a document at Christchurch is to be the subject of a charge there. Lysnar v. Bank ME. GROSE'S EVIDENCE. WELLIXGTON, December <!. In Ilic Supreme Court, before Mr Justice AlcfJregor, the hearing was continued to-day of the Lysnar case in which the claim and counter-claim total over £120.900. Air Lysnar (v*no is suing in person) claims £50,919 from tho National Bank of New Zealand, the, Bank counter-claiming for £71,990. Thc litigation has arisen over an East Coast sheep station Arcwhana. near Gisborne. Evidence was given to-day bv J. T Grose, General Alanager of the defendant bank to the effect that the bank imposed a condition that, new, expenditure must be subject to the bank’s~approval, and that surplus revenue must be disposed of as the bank advised. The hearing, was then adjourned till to-morrow.
