SAFETY AT SEA
INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION. (British Official Wireless.} RUGBY, September 19. The International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, and the International Load Line Convention will be ratified by the Government of the United Kingdom and by the majority of the other signatory Governments, on Ist October, and will come into operation in this and the other ratifying countries on the Ist of January next. Other countries which have already ratified, or agreed to ratify, on the Ist October, include in the case of the Safety of Life Convention, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Sweden; and in the case of the Load Line Convention, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain. Sweden, the United States, and Russia.
